Orchidia is starting to install the new line of Single Dose Unit (SDU) eye drops which are single-use droplets that are free of preservatives as it will be shipped that produced by Rommelag - Switzerland to Egypt and will begin installation in September 2017.
It is noteworthy that the first line used to produce this type of droplets in Egypt, where all droplets of one use are imported from abroad and has been contracted on this line to meet the needs of doctors who have requested the provision of this type of drugs through Orchidia due to the continuous shortage in importing of these drugs.
The line has exceeded the cost of 50 million pounds, and the line produces about 54 million single unit per year.
The production of the new line is expected to start at the end of the first quarter of next year with the introduction of the first treatment for glaucoma filled with single-use drops and the first treatment of allergies packed in disposable drops in Egypt.
