Orchidia investment 2017 - 2018

The Board of Directors of Orchidia have agreed to increase the company's investments in eye medicines production for the years 2017-2018 to 200 million Egyptian pounds, as a result of the increasing demand for the company's products in both the local and export market. The implementation of this investment plan has already begun by installing  SDU preservative-free line that produces single dose preservative free eye drops. This line is considered to be the first of its kind in the eye products produced locally in Egypt and is expected that production will start doing the first quarter of 2018. The company has also commenced the expansion procedures in the new building, where a new sterile area of ophthalmological production is being processed to keep up with increased market demand. And it is stated that the company has contracted to buy the first line of EMA company, to produce conventional eye drops with a total of 17 million bottles per year, which is expected to increases the company production capacity to 52 million bottles during 2018 with more than 54 million units of disposable drops.
