Myopia

Myopia is a common visual condition, in which near objects are seen clearly, but far objects are blurry. It occurs when eye shape leads to light refraction incorrectly, so the light is collected in front of retina rather than inside it. Myopia may develop gradually or rapidly, and usually gets worse during childhood and adolescence. Myopia usually runs in families.

Basic eye examination can confirm myopia, and blurry vision can be managed by wearing glasses or contact lenses or refractive surgery.
